Bulbasaur Trio Part III Venusaur

Here's the last part in our evolution series. He's (and he is a he; females have a seed--I may make an optional add on later on) a little more detailed than the others in that he has more crocheted parts. Nothing extremely difficult to make, but somewhat difficult to get to stay up. As you'll see on the materials list below, I had to use something to keep the flower petals from bending down. I myself used chopsticks since I had them around the house, but you can use whatever you like. If you're making this for a child, you may want to choose a safer alternative like fabric stiffener (although I haven't tried that yet so I can't guarantee if it would work--it may be too heavy). If you find a good solution, let me know and I'll add it up here. Excepting that part, the pattern is fairly straightforward. But, as always, if you have any questions, let me know. Without further ado (I know it was a long explanation), here's Venusaur! Good luck!

*Edit* Rita (see comment below) has suggested using plastic canvas for the petals. Thanks for the idea!

Front point: hdc ocross one end until desired length, then repeat rows 10-12 and fasten off.

Place all four leaves together so that they form a cross (there will be some overlaping) and sew to back. Sew flower on top.
Stick chopsticks or whichever material you choose into the trunk to support the flower. I didn't glue mine, just in case I ever decided to reposition it, but you can if you prefer.

Finishing

With felt, cut out eyes and mouth and ears and glue or stick to head. Attach small pieces of white felt to the mouth for teeth (All of the above can also be done with fabric paint or a mixture of the two, as I did). Sew eyelids above eyes. Above the mouth, embroider 2 straight lines for nostrils. Add white nails with either fabric paint or felt to bottom of legs.
