Vulpix

This is a side project I finished while I was working on my big 3-part project, which hopefully I will finish in the next couple of months. It was actually easier than I expected; the trickest part wasn't crocheting at all, but getting the eyes right. I ended up making it a closed eye version after various failed attempts. I think she looks cute this way, but if anyone makes a good eye version, I'd love to see it. She's posable, and can either sit or stand. I hope you like her, and as always, if there are questions, let me know.

Update Hair instructions added, sorry for the confusion.

  1. I have a quick question; Where's the pattern to make the tail? You might think I'm dense for asking, but it says tail, has a picture of it, then goes straight to final assembly.

  5. I used one yes, but it depends on what type of yarn and how tightly you crochet; this one was a regular worsted weight, so I did use a G hook, but for example if I was using Caron Simply Soft, I'd automatically use an F. so generally, yes, a G hook, but adjust according to your needs, too. gauge isn't terribly important for these, but you don't want your stuffing sticking out either.

  6. How did you end the body? Making one for my BF for our anniversary (apparently I remind him of vulpix) and I was wondering how it like ended... because I just have a half-circle/cone kinda thing right now

  7. Oops, I must have left out the last step (possibly more steps, I'll have to double check. The body should be like a tube with an open end; you're going to cover the hold with the head. So just follow the instructions up to Rnd 17 (maybe add a Rnd 18 with 18 sc, I'm not positive about that--you can place it next to the head, if you have it done already and see how it looks; it's not a big deal either way) and then fasten off, leaving a long end for sewing. I'll fix the pattern when I find where I put my notebook and have the correct instructions. Sorry about that.
