Mareep

Mareep is a Pokemon I've been making on and off between other projects. It differs from my other projects and other people's projects in that it uses a bulky weight yarn for the body. I originally did this because I wanted to avoid sculpting and just have a textured "sheepy" look. I ended up sculpting anyway (it was much easier than I thought), but I left the yarn as is. You can use worsted weight, but you have to add extra increase rows to make it larger. I hope you like it!

Materials

Cream colored bulky weight yarn (I used Lion Brand Homespun)
Blue worsted weight yarn
Small amounts black, yellow and orange worsted weight yarn

Finishing and Sculpting.

Cut out eyes out of felt and glue as shown. Embroider 2 straight stitches for nostrils. To sculpt, make straight stitches in random locations around the body and pull tightly to form dents in the crochet fabric. With black thread, embroider a straight stitch on each leg for toe separation.
