Tentomon

Here's the one out of at least the half dozen Digimon I've been trying to make that I was actually able to finish. As you can see, it's a bit lopsided since I'm a bad girl and never measure, but who wants a doll that's completely perfect? ^_______^

Materials

Pink, black and tannish/yellowish (yeah, I know, it's hard to describe; I just used a sort of off-white--shall henceforth be known as "whatever color") yarn
Small amounts, gray, green, orange
Stuffing
Coins to weigh down legs (optional)

Head

Note: This is technically not the same as what i did; I was trying to go for an oval shape, but it got a little complicated and it ended up not being much different than if I had just used the following instructions--at least I think so. If it doesn't work, let me know, but I think it should.

With pink, ch 2
Rnd 1: 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook (8 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (16 sc)
Rnd 3: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around (24 sc)
Rnd 4: sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around (32 sc)
Rnd 5: sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around (40 sc)
Rnd 6-12: sc in each sc around
Begin stuffing, continue as you go along
Rnd 13: sc in next 3 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc, repeat around (32 sc)
Rnd 14: sc in next 2 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc, repeat around (24 sc)
Rnd 15: sc dec in next sc, sc dec in next 2 sc, repeat around (16 sc)
Rnd 16: sc dec around (8 sc)
Fasten off, weaving yarn through to close.

Mouth

With whatever color, ch 9
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch sp across (8 sc)
Row 2-4: sc in each sc across
Row 5: sc dec in first 2 sc, sc across, sc dec in last 2 sc (6 sc)
Fasten off.
Sew to head. Embroider a line exactly in the middle.

Mouth Thingies (Make 6)

With gray, ch 5
Row 1: sc (or sl st if you want thinner) in 2nd ch from hook and each ch sp across (4 sc)
Fasten off.
Sew three onto either side of mouth line.

Eyes (Make 2)

With green, ch 2
Rnd 1: 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook (8 sc)
Rnd 2: sc in 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around (10 sc)
Fasten off.
Wait until next pieces are completed before sewing to head.

Eye Thingies (Make 4)

With black, ch 3
Fasten off.
Sew above mouth, two on each side. Sew eyes onto head, overlapping these pieces slightly.

Antennae (Make 2)

With orange, ch 13
Row 1: sc in each of 2 ch sp, 2 sc in next ch sp, sc in each of next 3 ch sp, sc dec in next 2 ch sp, sc in each of next 2 ch sp, sc dec in last 2 ch sp (11 sc)
Fasten off.
Sew to head.

Wings/Body

With pink, ch 2
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc)
Rnd 3: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc around (18 sc)
Rnd 4: sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around until last 3 sc, sc in remaining sc (23 sc)
Note: Whereas a usual increase pattern is repeating 6 times (or 8 depending on what number you start with), here there are only 5 repeats. The last 3 sc of Rnd 4 will never increase in order to have a flat belly. So you'll always have 3 sc extra. Don't worry about that, Rnd 11 will give you an extra sc to make it circular so you can finish as normal. I know it seems a little confusing--let me know if you have questions.
Rnd 5: sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around, sc in last 3(28 sc)
Rnd 6: sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around sc in last 3 (33 sc)
Rnd 7: sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around, sc in last 3 (38 sc)
Rnd 8: sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around, sc in last 3 (43 sc)
Rnd 9: sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around, sc in last 3 (48 sc)
Rnd 10: sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around, sc in last 3 (53 sc)
Rnd 11: sc in each sc around, 2 sc in last sc (54 sc)
Rnd 12-23: sc in each sc around
Begin stuffing
Rnd 24: sc in each of next 7 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc (48 sc)
Rnd 25: sc in next 6 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc around (42 sc)
Rnd 26: sc in next 5 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc around (36 sc)
Rnd 27: sc in next 4 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc around (30 sc)
Rnd 28: sc in next 3 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc around (24 sc)
Rnd 29: sc in next 2 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc around (18 sc)
Rnd 30: sc in next 1 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc around (12 sc)
Rnd 31: sc dec around (6 sc)
Fasten off.
Sew to head, flat side down.
Embroider a black line exactly in the center (or, if you're like me, approximately in the center).

Body Background

With black, ch 15
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch sp across (14 sc)
Row 2-14: sc in each sc across

Row 16-20: repeat Row 15 (2 sc at end of Row 20)
Fasten off.
Sew to flat side of body.

Row 3: sc across 4 sc, sl st in next 2 sc, sc in remaining sc
Turn sideways, sc down side, 2 sc in corner, sc across opposite side of ch loops, sl st roughly across from where you sl st on Row 3. 2 sc in corners and sc back up side, sl st to first sc on Row 3
Fasten off.

Mid-Section

With whatever color, ch 9
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch sp across (8 sc)
Row 2-4: sc in each sc across
Fasten off.

With gray, ch 2
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (6 sc)
Rnd 2: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around (9 sc)
Fasten off.
Sew to body, 1 on top of the line near the head, the others, 3 on each side.

Arms (Make 2)

With gray, ch 2
Rnd 1: 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook (4 sc)

Fasten off.
Sew to body at the corners of the background.

Little Arms (Make 2)

With pink, ch 2
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook (1 sc)
Row 2: 2 sc in sc (2 sc)
Row 3: 2 sc in each sc across, change to gray (4 sc)
Finger
Row 4: sc in next sc, turn, leaving remaining sc unworked (1 sc)
Row 5: sc in sc across (1 sc)
Fasten off.
Middle Finger
Row 4: join gray, sc dec across 2 sc, turn, leaving remaining sc unworked (1 sc)
Row 5: sc in sc across (1 sc)
Fasten off.

With pink, ch 2
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc)
Rnd 3-11: sc in each sc around
Begin stuffing, put small coins at the bottom to weigh it down if desired (It still won't stand up perfectly on its own, but if it has something to lean on, this will help)
Rnd 12: sc dec around (6 sc)
Fasten off.
Sew somewhat loosely on either side of the lower body , leaving space for the leg segments.

Leg Segments (Make 2)

With gray, ch 3
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch sp across (2 sc)
Row 2-6: sc across

With black, ch 2
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around, change to gray (12 sc)
Row 3: sc across 3 sc, turn, leaving remaining sc unworked (3 sc)
Row 4: sc dec in first 2 sc, sc in last sc (2 sc)
Row 5: sc dec in remaining sc (1 sc)
Fasten off.
In first unworked sc on Rnd 2, join with gray, repeat Rows 3-5. Repeat these steps twice more. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Sew to legs.

Finishing

Sew any loose parts that I didn't account for (I don't think there's any, but just in case). Add glue to hold things in place if desired (as you can tell by the picture, the line is not glued, so that's why it keeps falling to the side). Go digital!
